« Último mensaje por aaronpawlak en Abril 24, 2018, 10:18:39 am »
Hi,

My laptop is 15 months old so out of warranty and one of the hinges has broken. Is this something that can be fixed easily and economically or does this mean a new laptop?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Testeos / Test electrical wire for damages
« Último mensaje por aaronpawlak en Abril 24, 2018, 10:11:58 am »
Hi,

I ran, through the basement joist, 12-2 NMD-90 wires for my heating system. I used a 5/8" drill bit to make the holes and ran two wires per hole.
One of the wire was really hard to pull and the cable jacket was stretched a lot (about a ft of stretch for a 30 ft run)
Should I test the wire with a megohmmeter to ensure that there is no damage made to it? If so at what voltage should I test it and what results should I expect?
Should I just replace the wire?

Please help.

Off-Topic / Excel permission errors
« Último mensaje por aaronpawlak en Abril 16, 2018, 10:25:08 am »
Hi,

Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite)
Microsoft Office 15.19.1 (No update came through yet)
When users are connected to the server and try to save an excel document they get an error message.
"Alert"
Your changes could not be save to "File name", but were saved to a temporary document named "C8B4290". Close the existing document, then open the temporary document and save it under a new name.
After selecting "OK". The message below pops up.
Additional permissions are required to access the following files: /Volumes/Location/Location/Location  Microsoft Excel needs access to the folder named "File name". Select this folder to grant access. The file cannot be saved. The user has to change the name of the file in order to save changes.
As of right now users are connecting to another user's desktop via the office network.
Any one experience this issue and have a solution?

Please help.

Testeos / "Type of wiring"
« Último mensaje por aaronpawlak en Abril 16, 2018, 10:20:33 am »
Hi,

On an EIC, theres a tab for "Type of wiring" does this refer to weather its T&E or singles or does it refer to the way in which it's installed, i.e T+E clipped direct?
What would go in the box if it was T+E and what would go in the box if it was singles in conduit?

Please help.

Testeos / Windows 10 - Pairing a BLE device from code
« Último mensaje por aaronpawlak en Abril 05, 2018, 08:20:51 am »
Hi,

Is there any path to access a BLE GATT from code in Windows 10 without first manually pairing?
I want to be able to discover a device - in theory we could do that using the advertisement API to detect the Bluetooth Address.   BluetoothLEAdvertisementReceivedEventArgs
Can we then open a GATT service using that address despite it not being paired on the phone/PC?
BluetoothLEDevice.FromBluetoothAddressAsync - will this fail?
Is there any way to pair from code so we can access the services?

Please help.
